Many preachers do not accomplish anything because they never really plan (intend) to.


B. Your Aim Gives You:

1. Motivation (It encourages you to stick to your subject)

2. Direction (It shows you are heading somewhere)

3. Purpose (It shows you are accomplishing something)

1. Brief enough to be remembered

2. Clear enough to be written down

3. Specific enough to be achieved

NOTE: Make sure that your aim is God's aim from the text (passage of Scripture) you are teaching.

In every lesson, God wants us to:

1. Know the truth (John 8:31-32)

a. Hear the Word (Rev. 2:7)
b. Desire the Word (I Pet. 2:2; Jer. 15:16)
c. Believe the Word (John 4:39-42)

2. Apply the truth (Mt. 21:45; Lk. 13:3, 5)

3. Live the truth (James 1:22)

Teaching is useless unless it is lived, acted upon, or obeyed.

EXAMPLE:

Mt. 28:20 - "...Observe (to do)..."

Josh. 1:8 -

1) Consume it
2) Digest it
3) Do it
