"Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go at once and select the animals for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb. 22 Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning. 23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.
28 The Israelites did just what the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron. 29 At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well. (Ex. 12:21-23, 28-29) Moses and the Israelites trusted God, proven by their obedience to His instructions. God did just as He said He would. If they had not trusted Him, they would have suffered the same plague that the Egyptians suffered. The question for us in this season is, will we trust God? God is faithful and will do awesome things in our lives - healing, deliverance, reconciliation, restoration, breakthrough, advancement, elevation - everything that we seek, but many times in the wrong places because we don't trust God. In this season, we are reminded not to take matters in our own hands because we don't see how things will work out or because we think it is taking too long for things to work out or because things are not adding up to where we think they should. Trust God! Rest in Him! He wants to bring some mighty things to pass in your life but it requires you TRUSTING Him!
