Resurrection is on my mind! I know we must go through the crucible of the cross before we arrive at the glory of the resurrection; however the prospect and promise of resurrection makes the crucible of the cross bearable.
I want to encourage you this morning; death is necessary - death to pride, to ego, to reputation, are all necessary for us to be the yielded vessels that God needs us to be for His glory to be revealed in our lives. It may be hard. It may be the most difficult thing that we have ever experienced but it is necessary. Just be encouraged; God is a God of resurrection. If we die with Him, we shall also reign with Him!

Luke 18:31 Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus said, “Listen, we’re going up to Jerusalem, where all the predictions of the prophets concerning the Son of Man will come true. (32) He will be handed over to the Romans, and he will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit upon. (33) They will flog him with a whip and kill him, but on the third day he will rise again.” (34) But they didn’t understand any of this. The significance of His words was hidden from them, and they failed to grasp what he was talking about.
Think about this: Jesus knew what He was facing but did not turn around or try to escape it, all because He had a mission to complete. When I think about this, I see myself in the path of His mission for there was a time in my life when I was unsaved and He saved me. He commended His love toward me in that while I was yet unborn but destined to be born into sin and become a sinner, He had already died for me and made my salvation possible. He knowingly went through all that He went through for me! He took all of the humiliation, the shame, the beatings, the death on the cross and did not try to run away from it. It was no accident that He died! He was not killed in an ambush! He could have called a legion of angels to come and save Him but He CHOSE to die for me! That is so awesome!!! And, not only did He do this for me, He did it for YOU!!! I am overjoyed as I think about the greatness and goodness of God this morning. Just reflecting on this has stirred my faith and excited my emotions. Wow!!! I am blessed and highly favored. I pray that you are as well. And, If you are experiencing anything that is attempting to shade your day with sadness, gloom, darkness or depression, reflect on the great love of God that He has shown to you; rebuke that spirit of gloom and despair and rejoice in the love of God that is being poured out in your life today and for the rest of your life. He went to the cross so that you could have life and have it more abundantly. GRASP THIS! It is will make the difference in your life if it has not done so already!!! "Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go at once and select the animals for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb. 22 Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning. 23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.
28 The Israelites did just what the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron. 29 At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well. (Ex. 12:21-23, 28-29) Moses and the Israelites trusted God, proven by their obedience to His instructions. God did just as He said He would. If they had not trusted Him, they would have suffered the same plague that the Egyptians suffered. The question for us in this season is, will we trust God? God is faithful and will do awesome things in our lives - healing, deliverance, reconciliation, restoration, breakthrough, advancement, elevation - everything that we seek, but many times in the wrong places because we don't trust God. In this season, we are reminded not to take matters in our own hands because we don't see how things will work out or because we think it is taking too long for things to work out or because things are not adding up to where we think they should. Trust God! Rest in Him! He wants to bring some mighty things to pass in your life but it requires you TRUSTING Him! |
